On February 9, Gamma Technologies, LLC., a global leader and innovator in integrated multi-physics system simulation software, announced a strategic growth investment from Willkie client Insight Partners. Insight Partners joins existing investors TA Associates, the largest shareholder, and Cove Hill Partners. Gamma Technologies develops and licenses GT-SUITE, a leading multi-scale, multi-physics system simulation software. GT-SUITE includes a complete library of physics-based models covering fluid flow, thermal systems, mechanics, electromagnetics, chemistry and controls. Insight Partners is a leading global venture capital and private equity firm investing in high-growth technology and software ScaleUp companies. Willkie represented Zurich and Farmers Group, Inc. in the transaction. On December 11, Zurich Insurance Group (Zurich) subsidiary Farmers Group, Inc. (FGI) announced it has agreed to acquire MetLife’s property and casualty business in the US together with the Farmers Exchanges for $3.94 billion. Zurich will contribute $2.43 billion through FGI and the Farmers Exchanges $1.51 billion. In connection with the transaction, MetLife and the Farmers Exchanges have established a 10-year strategic partnership through which Farmers Insurance will offer products on MetLife’s U.S. Group Benefits platform, which today reaches 3,800 employers and approximately 37 million eligible employees. Farmers will also gain access to MetLife’s network of 7,700 independent agents and assume responsibility for MetLife’s existing retail property and casualty customers. The 10-year strategic partnership will provide MetLife’s existing group benefits customers with continuity in account management while adding Farmers industry-leading products to the platform. Onex Corporation announced on February 8 that Onex Partners V, Onex’s $7.2 billion fund, agreed to make a significant investment in Analytic Partners, Inc. Analytic Partners is a leading cloud-based, managed software platform which helps global customers assess marketing spend effectiveness and optimize future allocations across offline and online media channels. Onex manages and invests capital on behalf of its shareholders, institutional investors and high net worth clients from around the world and has approximately $47 billion of assets under management.
