Sarah B. Gelb, partner in Willkie’s Corporate & Financial Services Department and a member of the firm’s Finance Department, has been profiled in Cornell Law School’s alumni magazine in recognition of a new scholarship she established at the school.

The profile in Forum discussed Sarah’s upbringing, her family’s focus on education, and her path to the law. It noted the lasting impact scholarships have had on Sarah – first as a law student and now as a donor. For all the success Sarah has experienced in her career, founding a scholarship in her parents’ name last year gives her a profound sense of accomplishment.

“For me, it comes back to honoring your parents and being grateful for everything you have. It was such a proud moment when I showed my mother the first letter from her scholarship recipient,” Sarah told Forum. “It doesn’t get any better than that.”

The profile also highlighted how Sarah’s support for people has been a hallmark of her career as a top finance lawyer. Her deep personal commitment to clients and colleagues remains a driving force for professional excellence.

“There’s satisfaction in doing a job well,” Sarah said. “In knowing you can execute, in understanding what’s most important to your clients, in making sure they’re reaching their goals – and at the same time, in appreciating everyone for the contributions they make to your team. It’s all tied into the concept of supporting people, which is something I learned from my family growing up.”
