Fisher and Rua led a Freshfields' team advising Uber on its acquisition of Getir's food, grocery, retail and water delivery business in Türkiye, according to a press release earlier this month. The pair were also part of a team advising Salesforce on its acquisition of Qualified, announced last December. Covington said the firm had partnered with the duo as co-counsel on "highly regulated tech M&A deals" last year. "In addition to being a great cultural fit for us, they will contribute additional strength to our M&A practice as we continue to support clients navigating an increasingly sophisticated tech deal landscape,” said Catherine Dargan, chair of Covington’s corporate practice and co-chair of the firm’s mergers and acquisitions practice, in a firm statement.
