Mr. Kleeman comes to Kirkland's Chicago office from Innovene Inc., one of the world's largest petrochemical companies. Mr. Kleeman has more than 20 years experience as a corporate and securities lawyer. His practice focuses on public company legal matters including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and global compliance. At Innovene, he held the position of senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. In October 2005, he managed the legal separation of Innovene from its parent company, bp p.l.c. The subsidiary was sold to Ineos Group Holdings for $9 billion in the largest leveraged transaction in Europe to date. Prior to Innovene, Mr. Kleeman served as vice president, deputy general counsel and global business practices officer at Sara Lee.
