Kirkland & Ellis is excited to announce that Claire Campbell has joined the Firm as a corporate partner. “Claire is a talented attorney who brings experience across the spectrum of complex transactions as both outside and in-house counsel for private equity funds,” said Jon A. Ballis, Chairman of Kirkland’s Executive Committee. “We are excited to welcome her to Kirkland.” Ms. Campbell was previously a managing director with Stonepeak, a leading alternative investment firm focused on the infrastructure and real estate sectors. While at Stonepeak, Ms. Campbell served as legal lead for the Houston deal teams and also supported complex transactions across Stonepeak’s New York and London offices. Prior to Stonepeak, she was an attorney with Vinson & Elkins in Houston. Ms. Campbell’s practice focuses on representing private equity funds in all stages of fund activity, with a primary focus on equity investments and related portfolio management, including fund formation matters and co-investments. She has extensive experience in negotiating mergers and acquisitions and structured equity investments for private equity clients in multiple jurisdictions, as well as managing the material legal issues that arise with respect to a target post-acquisition through exit. She has managed investments from inception to acquisition to exit, including LOIs, deal negotiations, definitive documentation, structuring, funds considerations, co-investment negotiation, employment issues and portfolio level litigation. She also has advised funds on cross-fund matters, allocations, concentration management and investment structuring for targets involving multiple funds. “We are excited that Claire is joining Kirkland because many of us have worked with her throughout her career and know her stellar work,” said Andrew Calder, a corporate partner and member of Kirkland’s Executive Committee. “She will be an asset to our corporate work not only in Texas, but throughout the Firm.” Ms. Campbell earned a bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College and a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
