Paul, Weiss is advising Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter in his long-term agreement with Bacardi to renew their successful partnership with D’USSE, the world’s fastest-growing super-premium cognac brand. As announced by the parties on February 3, Bacardi has acquired a majority interest in the multi-billion-dollar brand from Mr. Carter and he will retain a significant ownership stake in the brand. The Paul, Weiss team includes corporate partner Laura Turano, counsel Cristina Amodeo and associate Alexia Yang; tax partner Robert Holo and counsel Sarah Katz; and entertainment and intellectual property partner Charles Googe.
