Kirkland & Ellis is advising Compass Inc. (NYSE: COMP) on the acquisition of Christie’s International Real Estate and @properties. The combination is designed to accelerate domestic and international growth opportunities. The transaction was announced on December 2, 2024 and is expected to close in 2025 subject to customary closing conditions, including obtaining regulatory approvals. Compass is the largest residential real estate brokerage in the United States by sales volume while @properties is the eight largest residential brokerage in the United States by sales volume. The combination will also include best-in-class title and mortgage businesses (namely, Proper Title and Proper Rate) as well as a lead-generation business (Suburban Jungle), which is in-line with Compass’s long-term strategy to add high-margin services to its portfolio. The LifeStyles investment comes as a result of Linden’s growing consumer healthcare sector effort.
