Paul, Weiss advised OceanSound Partners in the formation of its second flagship fund, OceanSound Partners Fund II, LP. The fund held its final closing on September 27 with $1.49 billion in total capital commitments, substantially above its original hard cap of $1.3 billion and its target of $1 billion. The fund also far exceeded OceanSound’s inaugural fund, which launched in 2020 and had total commitments $780 million. Together with affiliated co-investment vehicles and a single-asset continuation fund closed in April, OceanSound, with the assistance of Paul, Weiss, has raised over $2.15 billion of cumulative committed capital for the fund’s investment program. OceanSound is a New York-based private equity firm that pursues control investments in technology and technology-enabled services companies serving government and highly regulated enterprise end markets. Paul, Weiss advised Oak Hill Capital in its acquisition of a minority stake in Global Technical Realty L.P. (GTR), a provider of build-to-suit data centers for hyperscale, cloud and AI-driven workloads, alongside existing investor KKR. Under the terms of the transaction, Oak Hill made an approximately $400 million equity commitment alongside KKR’s additional $1.5 billion equity commitment. The investment will support GTR’s substantial development pipeline and marks Oak Hill’s fourth platform investment in the data center space. Under the terms of the deal, Brookfield acquired a 51% stake in Castlelake’s fee-related earnings and Brookfield Wealth Solutions committed to invest in Castlelake’s investment strategies and private funds.
